The Knicks suddenly could use Mitchell Robinson back as soon as possible, and that moment could come as early as Friday night’s game in Memphis.

Rookie center Ariel Hukporti suffered a torn meniscus in his left knee in Wednesday night’s win over the Sixers, and he will miss the next four to six weeks, a source confirmed.

But the rehabbing Robinson has been upgraded to questionable for the first time, meaning there’s a chance he returns against the Grizzlies.

The 7-footer has not played this season due to ankle surgery last May.

The 22-year-old Hukporti, who was making the first start of his NBA career due to Karl-Anthony Towns sitting out with a recurring knee issue, initially injured his knee in the third quarter of Wednesday’s game.

Hukporti returned to the game to start the fourth, but he was removed after barely one minute on the court and quickly ruled out of the game with what the Knicks initially said was a sprain.

The 2024 second-round pick finished with eight points on 4-for-5 shooting with two rebounds (both offensive) and one blocked shot in 16 minutes.

Precious Achiuwa manned the center spot for the remainder of the game and came up with a key rejection against Andre Drummond in the final minute.

Among the unsigned centers with NBA experience on the free-agent market are Mo Bamba, Frank Kaminsky, Robin Lopez, Jahlil Okafor, Malik Williams and James Wiseman. The Knicks also could sign someone out of the G-League, if needed.

Towns and Josh Hart (knee) also have been listed as questionable for Friday’s game. Desmond Bane (groin) is questionable for Memphis.

Jalen Brunson admitted on this week’s “The Roommates” podcast with teammate Josh Hart that the Knicks’ 0-7 record in games this season against the Cavaliers, Celtics and Thunder is “pretty horses–t.”

“The frustrating part of all this is we have what it takes. We have the personnel,” Brunson said. “We have everything that we need in that locker room. We just gotta put it together.

“But the amount of times we’ve been embarrassed on national television, I mean, that should ring a bell and that should be a wake-up call in itself, not just for those games but for the rest of the season. We gotta wake the hell up.”

Hart added that the Knicks can view the unfavorable statistic in one of two ways.

“It can be extremely beneficial because it could put you in a position of being humbled and that we have a lot of room to grow,” Hart said. “Or it can kind of break teams, and you think, ‘Oh, we’re not as good.’

“I think with the mentality and character of the team we have, I think it would be the first one.”
