Mamdani soaks up spotlight with droning, nearly 10-minute speech at Knicks NYC ceremony

By Craig McCarthy , Hannah Fierick and David Propper

Mayor Zohran Mamdani soaked up the spotlight during the Knicks’ tribute at City Hall Thursday — droning on for nearly 10 minutes after partying with the NBA champions on a parade float.

Hizzoner was front and center as the hometown team’s first-ever ticker-tape parade made its way up Broadway, hanging around Knicks stars including Karl-Anthony Towns and OG Anunoby onboard a float, along with Gov. Kathy Hochul.

The self-proclaimed diehard Knicks fan mayor even posed with the lucky orange purse owned by Towns’ fiancée Jordyn Woods.

“The Knicks did not just win for New York City, they won like New York City,” Mamdani, wearing a Josh Hart jersey beneath his blazer — but over his white button down shirt and orange tie — later told the crowd at City Hall Plaza.

The wild footage showed the hero, along with several others, performing CPR on the fallen man from atop a lower Manhattan building's awning.

Upon being revived, the man immediately sat up and reached for the woman and repeatedly tried to kiss her.

She turned her head away from the man several times before finally shoving him away.

Roughly 2M Knicks fanatics showed up for Champion team's ticker-tape parade

By Joe Marino

Roughly two million Knicks fans swarmed lower Manhattan for the team's historic ticker-tape parade, according to the NYPD.

The startling estimate includes those who were inside the parade route, and those who flooded the neighboring streets, cops said.

While massive, the total means that the Knicks won't be able to claim the largest parade in Big Apple history, as Mayor Mamdani had previously theorized.

Around 4 million people showed up to marches celebrating the Apollo 11 astronauts in 1969, astronaut John Glenn in 1962, Gen. Douglas MacArthur after his dismissal by Harry Truman in 1951, and Charles Lindbergh in 1927 after his famed flight.

An estimated 3.5 million people attend the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade each year.

Bootleg Knicks merch selling like hotcakes at NYC ticker-tape parade: 'Better than New Years'

By Kevin Sheehan and Nicole Rosenthal

These are slam-dunk sales.

Street vendors at the New York Knicks’ ticker-tape parade made a killing peddling bootleg merchandise – raking in thousands of dollars in just a few hours.

Wan Ali, of Los Angeles, California, sold about 40 Knicks-themed bucket hats in just 45 minutes – at a jaw-dropping $100 to $150 a pop.

“We did great, passed $10,000 this morning,” Ali, 53, told The Post from his lower Manhattan outpost. “Better than New Years, because I didn't freeze and have to pay for a high dollar hotel room."

Parade attendee D. Spin, of Raleigh, North Carolina, said he got sticker shock at first, but then still opted to snag a hat.

“For $100, I wasn't sure,” he said “but I was getting so many compliments on this hat [that] I had to come back and get some more stuff for folks back home."

Yet another vendor was peddling copies of The Post’s Thursday cover -- with the wood "KINGS OF THE CITY" -- celebrating the championship ceremony for a cool $20.

Wild video shows cat fight over Knicks parade viewing spot as woman loses pants -then twerks in orange thong

By Katherine Donlevy

An X-rated brawl erupted along the Canyon of Heroes when two women battled for the prime Knicks viewing area.

A wild video captured the moment the claws came atop the Trinity Place and Thames Street corner signs.

A woman wearing a jersey seemingly tried to block another from climbing down from her perch on the walking signals -- and the latter wasted no time retaliating.

The larger of the pair grabbed the jersey-wearing woman by the neck and ripped her off the street sign and tossed her into the crowd.

That woman immediately popped back up and ripped the other lady's pants down, revealing her Knicks-orange thong, before pounding her buttocks.

But the unbothered woman stayed on top of the street sign and began twerking as the crowd went wild.
