NBA commissioner Adam Silver wants the season’s reopening to begin July 31, but it looks like the Knicks won’t be part of the Disney World kickoff party.

The Knicks finally opened their training facility in Tarrytown on Friday, but that does not mean they will be playing any more games.

According to an NBA source, Silver’s conference call with owners left the impression bringing back all 30 teams was unlikely. That’s probably the only way the Knicks play again this season.

The general impression is the Knicks are a “long shot” to play another game, according to a person debriefed on the call. Indeed, the Knicks seem ambivalent about returning. If their season is over, president Leon Rose could begin a coaching search that may include keeping interim coach Mike Miller, but features Tom Thibodeau as his primary target.

The NBA and its players association may vote on a decision on how to proceed by the middle of next week, according to a source. According to ESPN, the league’s board of governors are expected to vote Thursday — with owners expected to approve Silver’s recommendation on a format to restart the season.

A return-to-play scenario that includes 24 teams still is in play. That could include the Knicks if the NBA takes the top 12 teams from the East and the top 12 from the West and offers a play-in tournament. But that scenario is unlikely, too.

Other 24-team scenarios would exclude the Knicks, such as taking the eight teams with the best records after the top eight in each conference. The Knicks (21-45) would finish 25th in that proposal.

One other reported scenario discussed is having the 16 playoff teams and clubs within six games of the eighth seed. That would mean 22 teams. The Knicks are 9 ¹/₂ games back of the eighth-seeded Magic.

Hence, the only way the Knicks return appears to be if all 30 clubs are brought back. The Nets are in seventh place in the East — in playoff position — and will be in Orlando. But some play-in scenarios would put the Nets’ chances of being in the final 16 playoff pool in jeopardy.

On the conference call, Silver told owners July 31 is being targeted for reopening day. Teams may hold a three-week training camp in Orlando starting in early July.

The games will not include fans and be held in the spacious basketball gym on the grounds of ESPN’s Disney Wide World of Sports that features four courts. The NBA draft combine was held there in the mid-2000s.

The most likely scenario might be bringing back just 20 teams. Sources have indicated having the Pelicans and Zion Williamson part of the Disney fun is on the NBA’s radar and New Orleans would make the cut.

Last week, the start date was angling more toward mid to late July. Silver has targeted the last possible date to get this season in and still start next season by either Christmas or Jan. 1.

The playoffs could drag all the way into late September or early October, followed days later by the draft and free agency. One report stated the NBA was looking into having free agency start before the draft, as the NFL did.

This would make sense since the free-agent situation will be downsized because of the expected salary-cap reductions due to the coronavirus pandemic. In fact, ESPN cap guru Bobby Marks told The Post he expected all 27 players with opt-outs in their contracts this offseason to opt in.

Having the restart go right to a 16-team playoff was favored in a recent survey of general managers. In a poll of all 30 GMs, according to ESPN, 16 said they would prefer the league come back with just the typical 16 playoff teams — eight from each conference.

“This is our chance to experiment and learn,” Mavs owner Mark Cuban said on ESPN. “With unique circumstances I’m confident we’ll try to take advantage and do something different.”

The idea of having all 30 teams return still isn’t dead, but there’s little support for clubs like the Knicks who want to get on with their offseason and not risk messing up their current lottery seed. The Knicks, who are in 12th place in the East, are seeded sixth in the draft lottery with a 9 percent chance of winning it.

That the Knicks won’t begin a coaching search until their season is over is another reason they are hesitant to return.

On Saturday, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced teams in the state could open their training facilities to players. The Nets announced immediately their Brooklyn digs were open for business.

The Knicks waited until Friday as most players and coaches were out of town during the lockdown.

“The Knicks re-opened the MSG Training Center today for voluntary player workouts,’’ the team announced.
