The Knicks vanquished their greatest foe. Now, they have to do it three more times.

Trailing by as much as 20 — and nine entering the fourth quarter — the Knicks staged a furious rally to send Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals into overtime en route to a thrilling 108-105 win in Boston.

Mikal Bridges came alive in the overtime period with a blocked shot, a steal that led to an-and-1 dunk by Anunoby and a hit a clutch 3-pointer extend their lead to six points.

He saved his best for the final seconds, however, stealing the ball from Jaylen Brown to clinch the win.

Anunoby and Brunson led the way with 29 points apiece, while Bridges finished the night with eight.

Josh Hart and KArl-Anthony Towns added 14 points each, with Hart adding 11 rebounds and Towns 13.

The Celtics’ Brown and Jayson Tatum scored 23 each to lead Boston’s charge.

Knicks use a 20-point comeback to steal Game 1 in OT

The Knicks have pulled out their first win over Boston this season, storming back from a 20-point hole in the third quarter for a thrilling 108-105 overtime victory over the Celtics in Game 1 on the road.

Jalen Brunson and OG Anunoby scored 29 points apiece, and Mikal Bridges led a strong defensive effort that held the Celtics to 25.0 percent on 15-for-60 shooting from 3-point range. Bridges had only eight points on 3-for-13 shooting, but he contributed three steals and two blocked shots in 51 minutes of action.

Game 2 is Wednesday night at TD Garden.

Can they hold on?

Bridges only had five points through four quarters, but he recorded a blocke shot and a steal on successive possessions, and then nailed a 3-pointer to give the Knicks a six-point lead. He also has played 50 minutes. Fifty.

Down to the wire

Brunson drove and found Anunoby in the corner for his sixth trey, before Holiday got inside to tie it at 100 with 53.3 seconds to go. Anunoby and Tatum both missed on the ensuing possessions for each team, and the Knicks have the ball with 5.5 seconds left with a chance to win in regulation.

A quick 7-0 response by the home team, with two free throws apiece from Brown and Tatum and then a Derrick White 3-pointer following a Brunson travel to retake the lead, 98-97, with 2:16 to go.

Two more triples by Brunson have the Knicks suddenly in the lead for the first time since early in the second, 97-91, at 3:28. The Celtics are just 13-for-53 from long distance, and the Knicks might pull this off if that continues.

The Knicks had silenced the TD Garden crowd, but Jrue Holiday got the fans back to their feet with a 3-pointer to push the Celts back ahead, 89-86, with 6:26 left. But Brunson answered right back with a corner-3 to tie it again.

Anunoby's fifth trey in nine attempts has brought the Knicks from 20 down in the third to within 84-83 with just over eight minutes remaining in regulation. Crazy. And here comes Brunson off the bench.

WIth Brunson getting a rest to start the quarter, McBride buried his third long-ball of the game before Towns got to the rim for an offensive rebound and putback, and suddenly the Knicks are very much alive on the road, down 84-80 with 9:25 to go.

Hart's strip of Pritchard led to a triple by Brunson (18 points), and Anunoby (also 18) just sank two free throws to cut that 20-point hole down to six -- with Towns still on the bench -- with under 30 seconds left. But Horford drilled a 3-pointer in the closing seconds for an 84-75 game heading to the final period.
