There will be no repeat champ in the NBA this year — the Knicks made sure of that.

The Knicks closed out the reigning champion Celtics with a dominant 119-81 win on Friday night, ending their second-round series in six games.

After flubbing their first chance to eliminate Boston on Wednesday night, the Knicks took care of business in front of a raucous — and star-studded — home crowd.

Six New York players netted triple-digit point totals, with OG Anunoby and Jalen Brunson leading the way with 23 apiece.

Anunoby did him one better, however, adding 10 rebounds for a triple double — a feat matched by big man Karl-Anthony Towns, who posted 21 points and 12 rebounds.

Josh Hart made plenty of noise on his own, scoring 10 points, grabbing 10 rebounds and dishing out 11 assists for a triple-double.

Boston’s Jaylen Brown was held in check for three quarters, putting up just 20 points in a night that ended early when he fouled out.

While the Celtics are headed home, the Knicks will get a chance at redemption against the Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals — their first appearance in the third round of the playoffs in 25 years.

Taxi!

NJ Transit trains aren't running because of a labor strike.

And it doesn't look like it will be easy to get a taxi outside Penn State, either.

Knicks fans have taken their celebration of eliminating the Celtics in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference semifinals to the streets outside of Madison Square Garden, where they are climbing up traffic lights and onto taxi stands.

Knicks fans are climbing traffic lights

By Ryan Dunleavy

One of the most dangerous things that sports fans do in raucous celebrations is climb things.

Sure enough, Knicks fans are escalating the party outside of Madison Square Garden by climbing up traffic lights to get a better view of the scene around them.

New Year's Eve or a Knicks win?

By Ryan Dunleavy

Is the ball about to drop in Times Square?

No, but the Knicks just routed the Celtics and fans are packed onto 7th Avenue like it's New Year's Eve.

Some fans are sitting on other's shoulders.

Some are sprinting down side streets.

Some are bouncing up and down.

But they are packed together.

The nervous energy that existed before closing out the Celtics in Game 6 -- a trip back to Boston for Game 7 would have been pressure-packed -- has given way to an all-out party outside Madison Square Garden.

Party spills outside MSG

7th Avenue is in there somewhere.

Knicks fans are flooding the street outside Madison Square Garden because no one is in a hurry to go home and forget about one of the greatest Knicks for the franchise in the last 50 years.

The Knicks trounced the Celtics in a series-clinching Game 6 that was over by the middle of the second quarter.

Here's a look at the scene outside MSG right after the game.

Stephon Marbury living vicariously

By Ryan Dunleavy

The last time that the Knicks made the Eastern Conference Finals, Stephon Marbury was the Nets point guard playing his home games in East Rutherford.

He was three years away from suiting up for the Knicks.

So, the retired pride of Coney Island is enjoying Knicks Fever as much as anyone right now as the team heads back to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2000.

How long ago was 2000? Ask Timothee Chalamet

By Ryan Dunleavy

The last time that the Knicks played a game in the Eastern Conference Finals was June 2, 2000.

On that day, Timothee Chalamet was 4 years old.

Now, the two-time Oscar-winning actor is one of the Knicks' biggest fans.

And he wasn't about to control his emotions during the Knicks' blowout win in Game 6 to close out the Celtics.

The party isn't over just because the series is

The Knicks are headed to the Eastern Conference Finals, which will begin on Wednesday.

Knicks fans might need the four-day layoff to recover from the party just starting to form outside of Madison Square Garden right now.

Knicks end 24-year drought

By Ryan Dunleavy

It's back to the Eastern Conference Finals for the Knicks.

The Madison Square Garden crowd chanted "Knicks in six" throughout the fourth quarter of Friday's 119-81 series-clinching Game 6 victory against the Celtics.

After the largest margin of victory in franchise playoff history, the Knicks are four wins away from returning to the NBA Finals. The last time that they were in the Eastern Conference Finals was against the Pacers in 2000.

The Knicks' 24-year drought is over. The Washington Wizards (46), Charlotte Hornets (35) and Philadelphia 76ers (24) no longer have company.

Game 1 against the Pacers -- who else? -- is set for Wednesday at Madison Square Garden.

Knicks empty the bench

By Ryan Dunleavy

The Knicks' lineup with four minutes remaining consists of Cam Payne, Landry Shamet, P.J. Tucker, Miles McBride and Precious Achiuwa.

Tucker, a 14-year veteran, only played in three games all season!

But head coach Tom Thibodeau finally believed that the Knicks' 30-plus point lead over the Celtics in Game 6 was safe with four minutes to go and took out his top-six players.

So, the Knicks should go into the Eastern Conference Finals against the Pacers with a fully healthy lineup. That's a big difference than when they met in last year's series.

Think celebrities have seen it all?

By Ryan Dunleavy

They've been to exclusive parties and traveled to remote locations.

But the celebrities in the front rows at Madison Square Garden are acting like they've never seen anything like the Knicks building a 40-point lead on the Celtics in a close-out Game 6 at Madison Square Garden.

Then again, there hasn't been a Knicks' celebratory moment like this in a long, long time.

Here's Fat Joe.

When should the Knicks pull their starters?

By Ryan Dunleavy

Any Knicks fan who lived through last year's NBA playoffs is now thinking the same thing.

Pull the starters, Thibs.

Seeing Mitchell Robinson, Bojan Bogdanovic, OG Anunoby and ultimately Jalen Brunson go down and join Julius Randle on the bench essentially killed the Knicks' chances in a seven-game series against the Pacers.

With the Knicks blowing out the Celtics through three quarters, there feels like little need for Jalen Brunson, Mikail Bridges and Josh Hart to all still be on the floor -- and Anunoby to be at the scorer's table ready to check in with nine minutes to go.

Thibodeau lives and dies with his starters, but a garbage-time injury that changes the Eastern Conference Finals dynamic would be devastating.
