The Knicks are waiving a member of their Kentucky corps.
The team announced it is parting ways with forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist.
The former Kentucky star — one of the many on the Knicks — signed with the team in late November in the hope of reviving his career after eight seasons.
Kidd-Gilchrist, 27, had been in the running for the Knicks’ final roster spot but did not play in the preseason because of an illness, which was not COVID-19. Parting ways with Kidd-Gilchrist, means the final slots will likely go to Omari Spellman and Ignas Brazdeikis.
Former Seton Hall star Myles Powell and guard Bryce Brown were also waived. Powell will likely start the season in the G-League.
