Taj Gibson reveals Tom Thibodeau’s reaction to Knicks’ NBA Finals win: ‘That’s how it goes’

Tom Thibodeau was fired as Knicks head coach a year ago to the day of the team’s Game 1 win in the NBA Finals. 

But he’s thrilled his former team was able to finish the job against the Spurs, according to ex-Knicks center Taj Gibson.

Gibson, who has spent the majority of his NBA career coached by Thibodeau, revealed that the two-time NBA Coach of the Year has “no malice” toward the Knicks’ success.

Like many New York fans, Justin and Hailey Bieber celebrated the Knicks’ NBA Finals win over the Spurs together on Saturday night.

Justin, dressed in Knicks blue, was photographed passionately kissing his wife, who was donning a gray Knicks sweatshirt, after the Knicks clinched their first championship in 53 years.

Hailey was beaming for the camera after the victory.

As part of this morning's 'Get Up,' Windhorst said: "Certain championships are worth more. LeBron's championship in Cleveland in '16 is just worth more than some of the other things he's accomplished. I think this championship, with what Brunson accomplished…it's got a gold star."

No Knick partied harder than Jeremy Sochan after winning NBA championship

The Knicks clinching their first championship since 1973 on Saturday brought joy to many, but one of their most recent acquisitions might’ve been the happiest of them all.

Following the Knicks’ Saturday Game 5 victory over the Spurs, 94-90, which sealed their first NBA championship win in 53 years, several clips of Jeremy Sochan celebrating went viral.

One clip showed Sochan, while shirtless, nearly toppling over after trying to climb the giant Larry O’Brien trophy on the floor at the Frost Bank Center, all while his teammate Jalen Brunson was recording an interview with Craig Melvin.
