As San Antonio fans await Game 1 of the NBA Finals against the Knicks, the Spurs have pushed back against season-ticket holders attempting to put their tickets on the resale market.
The team has begun an email campaign for fans who list their Finals tickets on resale sites, informing them that their memberships will be taken away.
The email, publicized by superfan Mark Burnett on his Instagram account @spurssixthman, reads, “Tickets associated with your account have been identified in connection with resale activity utilizing unofficial or unauthorized secondary market sites, in violation of the applicable ticketing terms and conditions.
“Accordingly, your season ticket membership and related ticket privileges are revoked effective immediately, and any deposits paid toward next season, if applicable, will be refunded,” Burnett’s screenshot reads.

X user @Hasnain1272 commented: “That’s rent. I’ll be watching Wemby vs Brunson from my couch.”
Others, including local automotive dealer April Ancira, claimed that fans who are complaining should have bought tickets earlier if they wanted a better deal.

For reference, the cheapest nosebleed tickets on Ticketmaster for Game 1 in San Antonio are $959, which doesn’t include taxes or fees.
