Kyrie Irving plans to give more than he receives this birthday.

Irving, who turned 28 Monday, announced that he is donating at least $323,000 to Feeding America in order to help distribute 250,000 meals throughout the New York area, which has been hit hardest by the coronavirus in the United States.

Lineage Logistics, the logistics company Irving partnered with as part of its Share A Meal campaign, will match $200,000 in outside donations to the cause. The Nets had four players test positive for the disease, including Irving’s best friend, Kevin Durant.

“Seeing the effects of COVID-19 reach our loved ones, schools, our jobs and access to food has really impacted me,” Irving posted on Instagram. “I am asking my fans, friends, family and partners to join me in helping our communities by donating…Thank you to everyone on the frontline working to keep us all safe, healthy and fed. Together we can change the world one small gesture at a time.”
