Kyrie Irving is unsurprisingly getting a little emotional.
Ahead of his regular season debut with the Brooklyn Nets, Irving addressed his hometown Barclays Center crowd.
“I’m eternally grateful to be here, be back home in front of you guys and my teammates,” he said. “On behalf of us… oh man, I’m sorry, it’s just hitting me right now.
“I appreciate you guys and I look forward to you guys supporting us all season. Let’s go Nets!”
Irving, a New Jersey native, grew up a Nets fan and was part of a big summer splash in Brooklyn when he and Kevin Durant chose to sign with Brooklyn.
