Michael Jordan apparently is over his feud with LaVar Ball as the NBA legend and current Charlotte Hornets owner picked LaMelo Ball with the No. 3 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft Wednesday night.

LaMelo told Fox Sports he was glad to be playing for Jordan, whom many consider the GOAT in the sport.

“Man, straight blessing, for real,” LaMelo said. “I don’t even have enough words to say. You know me, I’m just blessed right now, for real.”

Nevertheless, it will be interesting when LaVar and Jordan cross paths again after the loquacious father of LaMelo and Lonzo, who plays for the New Orleans Pelicans, said in 2017 he could beat Jordan in a one-on-one game.

“Back in my heyday, I would kill Michael Jordan one-on-one,” LaVar told USA Today at the time. “I would just back (Jordan) in and lift him off the ground and call a foul every time he fouls me when I do a jump hook to the right or the left. He cannot stop me one-on-one. He better make every shot ’cause he can’t go around me. He’s not fast enough. And he can only make so many shots outside before I make every bucket under the rim.”

It took about a month for Jordan to respond, but he didn’t let dig pass by unanswered, according to CBS Sports.

“It doesn’t deserve a response, but I’m (going to) give it to you because you asked the question,” Jordan said. “I don’t think he could beat me if I was one-legged.”

It is extremely unlikely we ever will see the 57-year-old Jordan play LaVar, 53, one-on-one, but now they both have reason to see this LaMelo-Hornets marriage work.
