James Dolan, you’ve got LaVar Ball on Line 1.

Ball has hatched a plan to save the Knicks as they sputter through another woeful season. After Metta World Peace brought up Mark Jackson during a TMZ roundtable, Ball said he wants the Knicks to hire Jackson and for them to draft his son LaMelo Ball first overall in the 2020 NBA Draft.

“He’d be perfect for New York,” Ball said of Jackson. “He’d be perfect. And you know why I say that, man? Because he’s from New York, he’s a point guard. Please pick my son first. If he’s over there and getting my other two sons, with Mark Jackson being the head coach, he gonna do the same thing he did with Golden State with my boys.”

Jackson, 54, played for the Knicks and coached the Warriors for three seasons, but he was fired after the 2013-14 season despite leading Golden State to consecutive playoff appearances for the first time since 1992 and its first 50-win season in 20 years. The Warriors won an NBA championship the next season with Steve Kerr, starting a run of three titles in four seasons.

Jackson was a candidate for the job when the Knicks hired David Fizdale, whom they fired 22 games into this season. Fizdale finished with a 21-83 record in just over one season with the team.

LaMelo Ball is expected to be one of the top picks — and possibly the top selection — in this year’s draft after playing in Australia. Entering Wednesday, the Knicks were 12-32, tied for the third-worst record in the league.

Knicks president Steve Mills and GM Scott Perry had been planning to scout Ball in person this month, but LaVar’s youngest son hurt his foot and is out for the season.
