Kevin Love’s status for Game 3 of the NBA Finals is in question after the three-time All-Star did not practice with the Cavaliers on Tuesday.

Love was removed from Game 2 on Sunday after getting elbowed in the back of the head by Golden State’s Harrison Barnes and was placed in the NBA’s concussion protocol, which he must complete before being cleared to play on Wednesday.

“He’s feeling better, but … we won’t know until [Wednesday],” Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue said.

In order to play, Love must be symptom-free after going through multiple required steps of the protocol, including riding a stationary bike, jogging, agility work and non-contact team drills.

Though Love has averaged 16.5 points and 9.4 rebounds during the postseason, the Cavaliers are prepared for his potential absence, having played last year’s Finals without him due to injury.

“We’re down 0-2, and we can’t afford to look and say, ‘Wow, Kev’s not playing. What are we going to do?’ ” LeBron James said. “It’s next man up, because it’s a must-win for us. So obviously, his health is very important, but in the situation we’re in now, we’ve got to stay confident.”
