So you’re saying there’s a chance?

LeBron James, given an opportunity to shoot down a rumor he could look at New York as a free-agent destination next offseason, played dumb instead.

“I don’t even know what you’re talking about, shawty,” James told TMZ when asked about Blake Griffin hypothesizing James would be a Knick before a Laker.

The Clippers forward, on the “View from the Cheap Seats” podcast on Friday, said he could not envision James bolting for Los Angeles when he can opt out after this season, leaving a Cleveland team in disarray.

“Honestly, I don’t see [LeBron] coming to L.A. period,” Griffin said. “I could see him going to New York before L.A. I still think, when you go to the Garden, it’s a completely different feeling. The energy, there seems like there’s just a consistent buzz the entire game. … Even last year when you go play them, it’s still there.”

While James may not have endorsed the comments by Griffin, he did not seize the opportunity to shut down the speculation — like other Knicks pipe dreams have.

Just last week, when Kevin Durant was asked if he would ever play for the Knicks, the superstar responded, “Never.”
