LeBron James is no longer in “playoff mode.”

The 34-year-old Lakers star will have his minutes restricted for the rest of the season — including possibly not playing in back-to-backs —

.

Los Angeles is mired in a 2-6 stretch since LeBron declared himself in “playoff mode” on Feb. 21 with the struggling team fading from the postseason picture. He’s played 40-plus minutes three times in that span, averaging 28.6 points. 8.5 rebounds and 9.75 assists.

His time will be limited to 28-32 minutes per game with 17 contests remaining in the 2018-19 season.

The move comes after the team fell to 30-35, 6.5 games behind the eighth-seeded Clippers with Wednesday’s loss to the Nuggets in which James passed Michael Jordan on the NBA’s all-time scoring list.
