Five frustrated Knick fans from Brooklyn launched a new website Wednesday, supporting the Knicks’ bid for LeBron James once he opts out of his contract after the 2010 season.

The website, founded by William Patton, is called nycforlebron.com and is taking donations to raise funds for incentive gifts for King James during his free-agency. Gifts include his own suite at Yankee Stadium for the noted Yankee fan, a Ferrari and celebrity-row seats for Gloria James.

The website even specifies that these gifts would have to be done under the table since it would violate the CBA’s Article II, Section II that no compensation can exceed the set maximum salary.

LeBron is pictured in a Knick uniform and t-shirts are for sale, promoting the fantasy.

To realistically sign James, the Knicks would have to move under the cap and not rely on a sign-and-trade.

And the Knicks could conceivably move under the cap after 2010 if they trade Zach Randolph ($17.3M in 2010-2111) and either Eddy Curry ($11.2M) or Jamal Crawford ($10.5M) without adding any big-long-term contracts.

That’s why the addition of Randolph is so painful because he disrupted their chemistry and ruined their cap situation after 2010.

The new president could be brought in with sole aim to get under the cap after 2010 and break it down. Next year, Stephon Marbury and Malik Rose have their contracts expire, shedding about $30 million in payroll.

While James raved about playing at the Garden after his 50-point night two weeks ago, his first allegiance could be to the Brooklyn Nets, owned partially by his buddy, Jay-Z.
