For the first time since 2007, there will not be a New York team in the NBA Draft Lottery.

This will be the third lottery with less certainty in the draft order since the NBA flattened the odds in 2019 and now give the top-three teams an equal chance to win.

Last season, the Minnesota Timberwolves won the top spot in the lottery with the season’s third-worst record. The New York Knicks dropped to the eighth pick with the sixth-lowest record in the league while the Charlotte Hornets found themselves in the No. 3 spot while only having the ninth-worst record.

All teams hope to land Oklahoma State star Cade Cunningham, who is the No. 1 prospect, according to most NBA scouts and draft experts. Evan Mobley of the University of Southern California; Jalen Suggs of Gonzaga University; Jonathan Kuminga, who currently plays for the NBA G League Ignite; and Jalen Green, also of the NBA G League Ignite, vary in the second, third, and fourth position.

The pingpong balls will be drawn on June 22 at 8:30 p.m. ET. The NBA Draft will take place on July 29.
