Mike Conley is staying in Utah.
The Jazz and the point guard came to an agreement on a three-year, $68 million deal according to multiple reports Monday. He has seemed to found his permanent home in the twilight of his career.
Mike Conley will be sticking with the Jazz instead of leaving in NBA free agency. Getty ImagesUtah retained a crucial member to its 52-20 team that earned the No. 1 seed in the 2021 playoffs. As a member of the Jazz last season, Conley averaged 16.2 points and six assists en route to his first All-Star appearance.
Conley has become a nice backcourt partner and somewhat of a mentor for star Donovan Mitchell. The two hope to compete for a championship after blowing a 2-0 lead to the Los Angeles Clippers in the second round of the playoffs.
The veteran point guard spent his first 12 years in the NBA as a member of the Memphis Grizzlies. In 2016, he signed a massive five-year, $153 million contract before being traded to the Jazz in 2018. In return for Conley, the Grizzlies received Grayson Allen, Jae Crowder, Kyle Korver, and two first-round picks.
