Forget it and move on.

That’s what the Knicks have the opportunity to do Friday after a disastrous Game 1 loss.

There are no words to describe Indiana’s improbable comeback but there were a few bright spots for New York in the 138-135 overtime loss that included a deja vu-inducing collapse. Karl-Anthony Towns had 35 points and Jalen Brunson dropped 43.

Will the duo be able to lift the Knicks to a Game 2 bounc-eback win? Or will Indiana clamp down with a 2-0 series lead before heading home?

The city is going to sleep

What a difference a week makes for Knicks fans.

One week after the rowdy celebration sparked by eliminating the Celtics, all is quiet outside Madison Square Garden after a Game 2 loss to the Pacers.

No party on the streets tonight. Maybe not again this season. #Knickspic.twitter.com/EHfXurNjxv

Live with your star, die with your star

By Ryan Dunleavy

What did Tom Thibodeau think of Jalen Brunson pulling up for a 29-footer with eight seconds left instead of showing patience to look for a better -- and closer -- look that could've tied the score at 112?

Remember, the Pacers could've fouled rather than letting the Knicks attempt a 3, which would've turned the game into a free-throw shooting contest with the clock working against the Knicks.

Thibs on Brunson long 3: “I’m gonna trust him in that situation.” #Knicks

Haliburton? Nesmith? No. Siakam

By Ryan Dunleavy

Pascal Siakam nearly joined an exclusive list of visiting players to drop 40 points in a playoff game at Madison Square Garden.

As is, 39 points ain't bad.

Siakam -- not Tyrese Haliburton or Aaron Nesmith -- was the Knick Killer as he authored a "special game" to put the Knicks' season on the brink of disaster.

#Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle on Pascal Siakam's 39-point night in the Pacers' Game 2 win:

"Special game... He did everything. He attacked the rim. He was great in mid-range, and the three-point shot was there." pic.twitter.com/0ob4RG3FHV

Was Karl-Anthony Towns benched in the 4th quarter?

By Ryan Dunleavy

It sure sounds that way, even if Tom Thibodeau avoided the 'B' word.

Tom Thibodeau explains why Karl-Anthony Towns didn't play much in the 4th quarter:

"The group that was in there gave us a chance, searching for a way to win" pic.twitter.com/nvCMKtT0TM

The stat you don't want to read

By Ryan Dunleavy

So, what does history say about the Pacers winning the first two games of the Eastern Conference Finals?

The Pacers have won all nine playoff series when leading 2-0 in a best-of-7.

And the Knicks have lost all 14 series when trailing 2-0 in a best-of-7 series.

And that stat from ESPN Research doesn't even account for the fact that the Pacers are going home with their cushion after back-to-back wins at Madison Square Garden.

Knicks' season on life support

By Ryan Dunleavy

Game over.

Pacers 114, Knicks 109.

Pascal Siakam's 39 points out-dueled Jalen Brunson's 36.

Knicks likely down 0-2 and headed on the road

By Ryan Dunleavy

Jalen Brunson missed a potential game-tying 3-pointer with five seconds left and the Madison Square Garden crowd started headed to the doors.

The Pacers hit both subsequent free throws to take a 114-109 lead with 4.2 seconds left.

It's looks like a nightmare start to the Eastern Conference Finals for the Knicks, who are about to lose both games at home and are headed to Indiana.

Garden crowd erupts

By Ryan Dunleavy

The Knicks have cut the Pacers' lead to one.

And it looked the Pacers threw the ball out of bounds on the in-bounds. The crowd erupted thinking it was the Pacers' turn to choke.

But Jalen Brunson was called for a foul on Aaron Nesmith.

Tom Thibodeau is not challenging.

Hero ball x 2

By Ryan Dunleavy

Jalen Brunson just scored five quick points and the Knicks are down 110-107 with 66 seconds to go.

Brunson needed Mikail Bridges to hold him back from approaching an official, too. Smart move by Bridges, even if Brunson was going to be given some leeway there.

Brunson clearly thinks he is being bodied up too much as he backs down guards.

Starting to feel like game over

By Ryan Dunleavy

Never say never.

The Pacers taught us that with their nine-point comeback in the final minute of the fourth quarter in Game 1.

But ... the Knicks are down nine with 3:23 to go and their offense has dissolved into Jalen Brunson and Mikail Bridges forcing tough shots.

Mitchell Robinson closing in on season-high minutes

By Ryan Dunleavy

The Knicks can't take Mitchell Robinson off the floor.

He's an X-factor on defense and the offensive glass.

Even with what appears to be a rolled ankle.

He has played 27 minutes and counting ... when his season-high is 33. He's already at his most during the playoff run.
