LeBron James sounds ready for a change with the NBA trade deadline here.

James said the Lakers were in “a fog” following a 107-105 loss to a Blazers team that’s playing without injured Damian Lillard and just traded away CJ McCollum to the Pelicans. It was the Lakers’ sixth loss in their past eight games and comes as the franchise must decide what to do at Thursday’s trade deadline.

“Obviously, this is something that’s weighing on this group that we’re all trying to get through,” James said. “Almost feels like it’s a fog, just fog in the air. And we’re all trying to see what’s on the other side of it.”

At least this defeat could not be blamed on Russell Westbrook, who sat out with back tightness. Westbrook’s future with the Lakers is the biggest question around this trade deadline for the 26-30 team. His chemistry with James and Anthony Davis has been questioned and he has been benched late in some games by coach Frank Vogel.

The former MVP’s frustration reached a boiling point after a blowout loss to the Bucks on Tuesday night when he questioned Vogel’s inconsistent rotations. The frustration is clearly growing team-wide.

“Literally just — I’m tired as hell right now,” James said Wednesday night. “I just want to get some wine and get up tomorrow. I feel good about what tomorrow has in store, and we’ll see what happens. We’ll see what happens as far as the deadline, but other than that, I’m kind of just focused on what we can do to be better.”

A lot, according to some of the legends of Lakers past. Magic Johnson wrote on Twitter that he was “speechless” after the loss in Portland. While James Worthy said on the postgame show that “this is the lowest point that I’ve seen as a Laker over the years.”

Now we wait and see what this team will look like after 3 p.m. when the roster could look significantly different.
