Now that Lionel Hollins has been fired, the question is who will replace him. Here’s a look at potential candidates:

John Calipari

Nets CEO Brett Yormark will recruit him hard if he has any influence, and sources say Calipari still regards his failed first stint as Nets coach (72-112) as his greatest hoops regret.

Tom Thibodeau

Available despite a 255-139 record in Chicago and a .647 winning percentage the Nets (10-27) can only dream of.

Mark Jackson

Brooklyn guy, ex-Knick, former playoff coach with Golden State and currently an analyst for ABC/ESPN. His 121-109 record with the Warriors was middling at best, but he did help develop Steph Curry and Klay Thompson.

Luke Walton

Steve Kerr will be back eventually, and Walton will have that 24-0 start on his résumé. But Brooklyn won’t have Golden State’s talent on the roster.

Ettore Messina

Prokhorov hired Messina to coach CSKA Moscow in 2005, and he steered the club to a pair of Euroleague titles before becoming a Spurs assistant and learning under Gregg Popovich.
