Sean Marks said there is “no real time table,” but a theoretical time table is becoming clearer regarding Ben Simmons.

In a best-case scenario, the Nets could see their newest star debut in about two weeks, as the general manager laid out Thursday before the Nets lost, 113-107, to the Heat at Barclays Center.

Marks said Simmons, whose back stiffness has prolonged his time away from the court, should continue this week with individual workouts.

“Hopefully by the end of next week he’s getting more into the team environment,” the GM told YES Network. “And then we can really ramp up and start him getting into game shape.”

Brooklyn visits Philadelphia next Thursday, a showdown with James Harden that Simmons will miss after staying away from the 76ers all season. The Nets should practice the following Saturday, which could be the first high-intensity workout that Simmons participates in.

Typically, the Nets require three such practices before allowing a player to return to the court. If all goes well — and the crystal ball is especially cloudy with a player who has not played in a game in 8 ¹/₂ months for reasons mental and now physical — a March 18 (against Portland) or March 21 (against Utah) season and Nets debut are possibilities.

On Wednesday, ESPN reported that Simmons’ agent, Rich Paul, said Simmons was more “week-to-week” than day-to-day. The network speculated he could miss all of March. Marks was a bit cheerier.

“Although there’s no real time table, we’ve got to take it day by day and see how he responds,” Marks said, “and hopefully the sooner the better.”

Head coach Steve Nash missed his third consecutive game while in health and safety protocols.

“He’s doing OK,” acting head coach Jacque Vaughn said of Nash, who entered the protocols Monday.

Goran Dragic was set to play his fourth game with the Nets and first against the Heat, with whom he played for seven seasons, including a Finals appearance in 2020.

“He gave us a scouting report,” Vaughn said with a laugh.

Because the 76ers apparently did not have enough former Nets on the team, they reportedly will add DeAndre Jordan.

The former Brooklyn center will join Harden and Paul Millsap in Philadelphia, The Athletic reported, adding just a little bit more juice to a potential rivalry.
