The NBA season might be in doubt, but there will be a D-League and the Nets proceeded in that manner yesterday naming director of basketball operations Milton Lee as the general manager of their D-League affiliate, the Springfield Armor.

The Nets last season reached an agreement to run all basketball operations for the Armor, whose business matters will remain under the direction of its local ownership. Lee, whose resume includes working as a skills coach with players and doing statistical analysis for the Nets, now will be in charge of all basketball duties, including hiring a head coach, coaching staff and assembling a roster. One of the prime benefits to the relationship is that the Armor can implement the same system and terminologies used by the Nets.

“Milt is a natural fit for this position,” Nets general manager Billy King said. “He has a strong history with young players and his experience with the Nets basketball operations department will allow for a seamless integration of philosophies between the two teams.”
