The Nets will take a look at Mario West after signing the 26-year-old shooting guard to a 10-day contract Thursday.

The move came after the Nets released Quinton Ross, who is out for the season with a back injury. Sundiata Gaines also is out for the season with a fractured hip.

West has been playing with the Maine Red Claws of the D-League. The Red Claws are affiliated with the Celtics.

West was undrafted out of Georgia Tech in 2007, but signed with the Hawks and played three seasons in Atlanta.
