The Kobe Bryant tributes weren’t limited to the basketball court.
Packers linebacker Za’Darius Smith found a way during the Pro Bowl in Orlando to honor the Lakers legend, who died Sunday at the age of 41 along with his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and others in a helicopter crash in California. After a strip sack in the third quarter, Smith directed five other members of the NFC’s defense into a circle. They all mimicked a Bryant jump shot routine.
Earlier in the day, the Spurs and Raptors took consecutive 24-second violations to start their game in San Antonio and the Nuggets held a moment of silence.
Smith’s Green Bay teammate Davante Adams added his own Bryant tribute, pointing to the sky and signalling the numbers two and four with his fingers. A moment of silence for Bryant and others who died in the crash was also held before the game.
