One day after his team crushed the Knicks, Pacers coach Rick Carlisle entered the NBA’s health and safety protocols.

The Pacers and the Raptors, who the Knicks will visit Friday, both canceled scheduled practices Thursday “out of an abundance of caution.”

There was no indication that Friday’s game is in jeopardy of being postponed. Per international guidelines, the fully vaccinated Knicks had to be tested before entering Canada and will be tested again before returning to the United States.

Carlisle had a positive result on a rapid test following Wednesday’s 122-102 win over the Knicks and is awaiting the result of an additional PCR test, according to multiple reports.

Carlisle, who is vaccinated, likely will have to sit out at least Friday’s game against his former team, the Mavericks. He coached them for 13 seasons before resigning in June. Carlisle also skipped a game with Dallas at the Garden last season due to health and safety protocols, but he later claimed his failed test was a false positive.

Pacers guard Justin Holiday has missed Indiana’s past four games after testing positive in late November.

Nerlens Noel has been listed as probable for Friday’s game after sitting out Wednesday in Indiana with a sore lower back. Noel already had missed 13 games in three separate stints earlier this season due to knee issues.

Taj Gibson made his first start of the season at center against the Pacers, but he was scoreless (0-for-1) with four rebounds in 18 minutes. Mitchell Robinson also was ineffective with four points and two rebounds in 19 minutes in his second straight game coming off the bench.

The Raptors (11-14) remain without leading scorer OG Anunoby (hip) and backup center Khem Birch (knee). Forwards Precious Achiuwa (shoulder) and Justin Champagnie (knee) have been listed as questionable.
