Amen Thompson’s 2023 NBA Summer League is likely over. 

The Houston Rockets’ rookie guard will miss three-to-four weeks after he suffered a Grade 2 ankle sprain during a matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday, according to ESPN’s Marc J. Spears. 

Thompson, 20, will wear a boot for a week and is expected to miss the rest of Houston’s games in Las Vegas, per Spears.

The No. 4 overall pick in last month’s NBA Draft dazzled before his fourth-quarter injury, scoring 16 points with four rebounds, five assists, three steals and four blocks over 28 minutes.

And he wasn’t the only top pick with bad injury luck during Friday’s game at the Thomas & Mack Center. 

Scoot Henderson, the No. 3 overall pick, suffered a right shoulder injury in the third quarter after putting up 15 points and six assists. 

There is still no official word on if Henderson, 19, will return to Summer League action. 

Amen and his twin brother, Ausar Thompson, made history when they were picked fourth and fifth in the draft, making them the first brothers — let alone twins — to be picked in the top 10 in the same year.

Before the injury, the two were set to face off Sunday when Amen’s Rockets take on Ausar’s Detroit Pistons. 

The Thompson twins played for Overtime Elite, a pro league in Atlanta, for the past two seasons.
