The Rockets believe they were robbed. And not just in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals.

More has come to light about just how angry Houston was last year, when it launched a complaint against the NBA after Game 7 of the conference finals that claimed a whopping 81 potential missed calls and non-calls deprived them of advancing, according to ESPN.

Houston prepared a report and memo to the league that it did not send but did communicate to the NBA after its loss to the Warriors.

“Referees likely changed the eventual NBA champion,” the report said. “There can be no worse result for the NBA.”

The 81 errors the Rockets alleged were made cost them 18.6 points. In the two-minute reports the league sends out after games, it doesn’t attach point values. And Houston’s report included “potential infractions,” in which the NBA said it could not determine whether a foul should have been called — and yet, the Rockets apparently had determined it.

“As we told the Rockets, we do not agree with their methodology,” NBA spokesman Mike Bass told ESPN.

The report is poignant after Game 1 of the current series, in which the Rockets felt they were jobbed. In the two-minute report, the NBA said two foul calls against Stephen Curry were missed that would’ve fouled him out and there was a missed traveling call on Klay Thompson. Houston star James Harden complained about what would have been a game-tying 3 attempt in which he argued Draymond Green invaded his space.

“I just want a fair chance,” Harden said. “Call the game the way it’s supposed to be called and we’ll live with the results.”
