Heart might matter sometimes, but on a jump ball, height trumps almost everything.

Steph Curry learned that the hard — and hilarious way — on Friday night in a preseason matchup against Victor Wembanyama.

In a preseason battle between the Warriors and Spurs, won 122-117 by San Antonio, the 6-foot-2 Curry stepped up at half-court to face the 7-foot, 3 1/2-inch Wembanyama.

In this fight, there was no upset.

As the two crouched down in a ready position before the opening tip, Curry looked amped and energized for the chance but the No. 1 overall pick from the Spurs easily won the battle.

Considering the height difference, it wasn’t much of a surprise to see the result in what the Warriors’ X account deemed the: “JUMP BALL OF THE SEASON.”

Social media users seemed to love the ridiculous matchup that pinned the rookie and the 14-year veteran.

“I love them for doing this,” wrote one user.

“The greatest jump ball in NBA history,” wrote another.

Despite the actual outcome of the tip-off, one user thought that Curry actually came out on the right side.

“Curry won it in my eyes,” wrote the user on X.

It’s been a whirlwind offseason for the Frenchman, who was deemed a can’t-miss prospect before this summer’s draft before his top selection.

In three preseason games, Wembanyama has averaged 19.3 points and five rebounds in 20.9 minutes per contest.

Over the summer, the big man gave some love to Curry when he said he would pick him on his starting five players who could save the planet in a do-or-die scenario.

If the world needed a hero for a jump ball, Wembanyama probably wouldn’t be picking Curry, however.
