LeBron James wasn’t an exception to experiencing the spent side effects of the 2020 NBA Bubble — where he collected his fourth championship ring with the Lakers.

On the second day of Lakers’ training camp this week, James reflected on the aftermath of being in the bubble — and, just less than two months later, beginning last season’s camp.

“Last year after coming off the bubble it literally took everything away from you. Any little bit of energy that you had, it was completely gone when we left there,” he told ESPN — noting that the “the energy,” heading into the coming season is much different.

James recalled, “To come back into the season with the quick start that we had, kind of the life of the party was a little bit, just like, it was just kind of stale. You know, rightfully so. Guys just didn’t have an opportunity to get a mental break.”

While in the NBA Bubble in Florida, James admitted last year that it was “probably the most challenging thing I’ve ever done as far as a professional,” calling the experience “extremely tough.”

Now, heading into the 2021-22 NBA season with 11 new players on the roster — including Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony — James said, “You could definitely feel the energy shift a lot more in this season the first two practices compared to last.”

James admittedly has a fire inside him as he approaches his 19th season at age 36, and still has that same burning desire to win.

Lakers coach Frank Vogel bragged about James’ presence and leadership in training camp.

“He sets a great tone for attentiveness,” Vogel told ESPN. “Hanging on every word the coaches are saying and making sure he’s understanding it, executing it at the right level. I think that sets a tone for the rest of the guys absorbing what we’re trying to get through to them. It starts there.”

Vogel added that this year’s Lakers squad is already “playing hard” and “physical” just days into training camp.

The Lakers host the Nets in their first preseason game on Oct. 3.
