The Philadelphia 76ers are the latest NBA organization to be hit by COVID-19.

The 76ers released a statement Thursday that three unidentified individuals from among the players, coaches and members of the basketball operations staff tested positive for the coronavirus. The 76ers, who said they had the tests secured and processed from a private organization, also informed state and local officials.

“Pursuant to CDC guidelines, the individuals are in self-isolation and will be monitored closely by medical professionals,” the 76ers said in a statement. “The health of our players, staff, fans and community is paramount, and we continue to be guided by medical experts at this time.”

The 76ers news was the latest from NBA franchises revealing members of their organizations testing positive for the virus. The Denver Nuggets on Thursday also released a statement that a person had experienced symptoms consistent with the coronavirus on March 16 and is undergoing medical care in self-isolation. The Nuggets haven’t revealed if the person was a player or a member of their staff. Two Lakers players also tested positive for the virus, according to The Athletic. The Celtics also confirmed one of their players tested positive for COVID-19, later identified as guard Marcus Smart.

Thus far there are 10 NBA players who have contracted the virus, including the Nets’ Kevin Durant and three teammates.

Durant and other top athletes and entertainment figures who have gotten the virus were asked by the United States Surgeon General Dr. Jerome Adams on “Good Morning America” to use social media to help others understand the severity of the coronavirus pandemic.
