Whoever runs the Gin Blossoms’ Twitter account might be getting a raise after this.
The multi-platinum rock band — known for mega hits like “Hey Jealousy,” “Follow You Down” and “Found Out About You” — dunked on a Nuggets fan in a hilarious Twitter exchange on Tuesday night.
It all started when the Denver fan attempted to make fun of the Arizona-based band ahead of its national anthem and halftime performances at Game 2 of the Suns-Clippers Western Conference Finals.
“Leave it to the Suns to book the third s–ttiest band ever,” the Nuggets fan tweeted.
The Gin Blossoms replied, “Who did your Nuggets book for tonight?” A clear dig at Denver after it was eliminated by the Suns in a four-game sweep in the second round of the playoffs.

But, the Gin Blossoms answered: “Tbh, we’re playing one more game of the Western Conference Finals than the Nuggets…”
The Nuggets fan, in an apparent attempt to age the longtime rock band, replied, “Man, just think if it were 1994 you could’ve clapped back about your album sales or something.”
“Just think if it were 1994 Suns would still be better than Nuggets,” the band replied, adding a Google search of the 1994-95 Western Conference standings, in which Phoenix ranked No. 2 and Denver was down in the eighth spot.
The Nuggets fan tried to keep the feud alive with another album-centric insult.
“Nah. Let’s talk about your album sales instead. Your band must be in rough shape if you have time to drop C- trolling on a Nuggets s–tposting acct. Dave Grohl would never…,” the trolling fan wrote, referencing the Foo Fighters’ lead singer.
That’s when the Gin Blossoms used the viral “Suns in four” guy — who fought a Nuggets fan during Game 3 of the semifinals — as the ultimate clap back.
“The royalty checks keep cashing bud, #GinBlossomsIn4,” the band tweeted alongside a photo of the fighting Suns fan, Nick McKellar.
The Gin Blossoms went on to reply to Suns fans, as well as share supportive tweets and news articles that covered the war of words.
In other trolling news, Gin Blossoms drummer Scott Hessel wore a Jae Crowder salsa dancing shirt during the band’s performances in Phoenix, as a nod to the Suns star, who poked fun at LeBron James’ latest Mountain Dew commercial earlier in the playoffs.
After a 104-103 win, Phoenix leads the series 2-0. Game 3 is set for Thursday in Los Angeles.
