The 2023 NFL trade rumors blog has ended. Please follow our live updates from the 2023 NFL trade deadline blog here.

Last week was filled with rumors and one notable trade came to fruition when the Eagles acquired all-pro safety Kevin Byard from the Titans.

What will be the next big domino to fall?

Follow along here for live updates from one of the busiest days in the NFL.

One Derrick Henry deadline passes

By Michael Blinn

Derrick Henry did not restructure his contract by 4 p.m. on Monday, per ESPN's Adam Schefter, making it harder for the Titans to trade him before Tuesday's deadline.

The star running back has $5.5 million due on his contract -- he's in the final year of a four-year $50 million deal -- likely more than a team wants to pay for a short-term rental.

The 29-year-old has been connected to several teams, chiefly the Ravens, ahead of Tuesday, but the likelihood of him finding a new home has now diminished further.

At 3-4, the Titans seemed headed for a deadline overhaul after trading Kevin Byard to the Eagles, though Will Levis' spectacular first NFL game may have Tennessee thinking about seeing what they can do this season.

But they aren't ruling out anything just yet.

“We owe it to the team to listen as diligently as possible on anybody that would call regardless of player, person or position, just to make sure that we’re doing right by the football team,” coach Mike Vrabel said.

Eagles send defensive help to Falcons

By Michael Blinn

The Eagles are on the other end of a trade for once.

Philly is sending DL Kentavius Street and a seventh-round pick (2025) to the Falcons for a sixth-rounder in 2026, according to multiple reports on Monday.

The move helps fill Grady Jarrett's void in Atlanta after he suffered a torn ACL.

It's the second move in a few days for the Eagles, who acquired safety Kevin Byard on Oct. 23 -- and all signs hint at GM Howie Roseman not being done yet. He's reportedly looking for a linebacker to add to his defense.

"I’ve talked to tons of NFL teams around the league and it’s like ‘Yeah, Howie's calling, of course Howie is calling.’ and Howie is not done, by the way." The Athletic's Dianna Russini said last week on the "Ryen Russillo Podcast."

Ron Rivera has nothing to add

By Michael Blinn

Chase Young and Montez Sweat are popular names in trade rumors ahead of Tuesday's deadline,

Pundits and fans everywhere are talking about them, with one notable person keeping mum: Ron Rivera.

The Commanders coach, for a second straight day, declined to share any thoughts about his two pass-rushing stars.

Four different reporters asked Commanders head coach Ron Rivera four different questions about the upcoming trade deadline.

Rivera gave a similar answer to all, "we'll discuss those things once we get past Tuesday."

"Once we get past tomorrow, we'll probably have something to talk about," Rivera told reporters on Monday.

Narrowing it down, it will either be continued presences on the Washington roster, or the returns received for them.

Leonard Williams traded to Seahawks

By Rob Reese

And just like that, he's gone.

DL Leonard Williams was traded to the Seattle Seahawks for a 2024 2nd-round pick and a 2025 5th-round pick.

It's a nice haul for the Giants, who desperately need to stock up on draft capital.

As for Seattle, they sit atop the NFC West at 5-2 and now can go toe-to-toe with their division foes, the 49ers.

Big Blue willing to sell?

By Rob Reese

Any hopes of the Giants saving their season are gone.

With a crushing 13-10 OT loss to the Jets on Sunday, the Giants have little left to play for.

Expect veterans Leonard Williams, Adoree' Jackson and Parris Campbell to be on the block.

Out of the above names, Williams is likely to fetch the biggest return.

It's clear the Giants have concerns at multiple positions. For Joe Schoen and Co., their best path forward is to stock up on draft capital and address the elephant in the room, the O-line.

As for Saquon Barkley, Coach Daboll shot down those rumors last week.

But the NFL's a business after all. Never say never.

Washington 'actively initiating' trade calls

By Rob Reese

Where there's smoke there's fire.

After losing to the Eagles on Sunday, the Commanders dropped to 3-5 on the season.

This likely confirms their status of sellers as they are long-shots to compete with either Dallas or Philadelphia in the NFC East.

Commanders have now begun "actively initiating" trade calls on Chase Young and Montez Sweat, per @Schultz_Reporthttps://t.co/07CMuRmnfM

— B/R Gridiron (@brgridiron) October 29, 2023

Each Chase Young and Montez Sweat are impact players on defense. They're also each in contract years -- making them expendable for the Commanders, who may not want to pay up in the offseason.

Now it looks like Washington has ramped up their selling process and hope to deal at least one of their star defensive players prior to tomorrow's deadline.

What does Howie Roseman have planned?

By Rob Reese

After trading for safety Kevin Byard last week, Howie looks to be back in the kitchen cooking up another trade.

The Eagles have restructured Kevin Byard’s contract to create an additional $711K in cap space for this season

The NFL trade deadline is 4PM tomorrow.

— Victor Williams (@ThePhillyPod) October 30, 2023

According to reports, the Eagles have freed up roughly $711,000 in cap space.

Knowing Roseman's history, he's likely plotting more.

Over the weekend it was reported that Philadelphia could be looking for help at LB.

— Brenden Deeg (@BrendenDeeg_) October 28, 2023

As it stands now, second-year player Nakobe Dean is their MIKE LB flanked by Zach Cunningham.

Veteran Nicholas Morrow has also played in the middle, but they'll likely want to bolster their depth.

A few options to consider: Jordan Hicks (Vikings), Blake Cashman (Texans) and Zaire Franklin (Colts).

Buffalo gets their RB?

By Rob Reese

The Buffalo Bills were looking for a RB and finally settled on one.

BREAKING: Leonard Fournette tells me he’s in Buffalo and is planning to sign with the #Bills today, pending a physical.

— Jordan Schultz (@Schultz_Report) October 30, 2023

Instead of parting with any assets to acquire one via trade, they opted to sign veteran Leonard Fournette.

This likely takes Buffalo out of the Derrick Henry sweepstakes.

Buffalo (5-3) is second in the AFC East and have a pivotal matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.

How common are pre-deadline deals?

By Rob Reese

The rumor mill is heating up with high-profile names like Derrick Henry, Ryan Tannehill and others thought to be available.

But will we have to wait until the deadline Oct. 31 (4 pm) to see any action?

Here's a look at some of the deals that have happened prior to the deadline in previous years.

Pre-deadline deals:

🏈2021: Von Miller, Zach Ertz, Stephon Gilmore.

🏈2022: Christian McCaffrey, Calvin Ridley, T.J. Hockenson, Bradley Chubb, Roquan Smith, Kadarius Toney, Jeff Wilson Jr.

🏈2023: Kevin Byard, Mecole Hardman, Randy Gregory, J.C. Jackson, Chase Claypool.

— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) October 30, 2023

Per Schefter's list, it looks like we can expect some action ahead of the official deadline.

Who's buying and who's selling seem to be the million-dollar questions.

For one, Eagles GM Howie Roseman always seems to be buying, and with the Eagles now 7-1, look for them to potentially add another name on defense.

As for sellers, Denver and Washington have been among the most mentioned.

Montez Sweat and Chase Young could fetch a nice return for the Commanders. And Jerry Jeudy could help Denver build draft capital after a rocky start to the Russell Wilson era.

What will the Vikings do at QB?

By Rob Reese

The Minnesota Vikings are in a dilemma.

They've rebounded from their slow start and now find themselves 4-4, good for second in the NFC North.

But just when things were going well, Kirk Cousins suffered a brutal achilles injury against the Green Bay Packers Sunday.

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins (8) is helped off the field after going down with an injury in the fourth quarter against the Green Bay Packers on Oct. 29, 2023, in Green Bay, Wis.

Recently, star LB Danielle Hunter, who leads the NFL in sacks (10.0), has been rumored to be available.

However, the price is steep and the Vikings will only move him if they're blown away by the offer according to ProFootball Talk.

If they decide to keep Hunter and try and remain competitive without Cousins, they could look for QB help.

A few QB names they could consider: Case Keenum (Texans), Ryan Tannehill (Titans), Trey Lance (Cowboys) and Jameis Winston (Saints).

Kyler Murray's trade status revealed

By Rob Reese

One of the highest-profile names in the rumor mill was Arizona QB Kyler Murray.

Scratch him off the list for now.

It looks like Murray will make his return soon from an ACL injury.

He'll be doing so in a Cardinals uniform according to the Athletic's Senior NFL Insider Dianna Russini.

Despite their 1-7 record, the Cardinals have been pesky this season, and likely want to evaluate if Murray is their No. 1 QB moving forward.
