Lions D-Coordinator doesn't want to 'reach' for anything

By Rob Reese

If it were up to Lions defensive coordinator Kelvin Sheppard, it sounds like Detroit would be standing pat prior to the deadline.

In an interview, Sheppard said there are no general weaknesses that need to be addressed.

The Lions sit one place behind the Packers in the NFC North.

Rams open door to more NFL trade deadline moves after adding Titans cornerback

By Jaclyn Hendricks

The Rams may not be finished adding new faces to their roster.

Two days after acquiring Titans cornerback Roger McCreary in a pick swap, head coach Sean McVay offered an intriguing response about the possibility of making more moves before next week’s NFL trade deadline.

“I wouldn’t say no,” McVay said Wednesday, as covered by ProFootballTalk. “It’s not something that we’ve really talked about. I think if certain opportunities arise that you feel like give you a chance to be able to significantly upgrade your football team, but I feel really good about our group and the growth that I still think can be had from us in spite of doing some good things. That’s really in all three phases. It hasn’t been something that we’ve really talked about, but I certainly would never rule that out.”

Breece Hall posts cryptic popcorn eating GIF

By Rob Reese

Okay fine, we'll bite.

Breece Hall posted a cryptic GIF to his X account of a person eating popcorn. Logically the interpretation here would be that Hall is entertained by the ongoing trade rumors with his name.

But that's pure speculation.

One team thought to be for sure sellers prior to Tuesday's deadline was the Dolphins.

However, it sounds like they are content to see out Mike McDaniel and the roster for the remainder of the season. According to ESPN, there's optimism within the building that Miami can still turn things around.

To the public, it certainly does not feel that way after their 6-31 loss to the Browns two weeks ago.

Raiders WR Jakobi Meyers requested a trade prior to the regular season.

He's had a relatively quiet season with 329 yards and could find himself on the trade block after Las Vegas signed veteran WR Tyler Lockett.

Was the Lockett signing a precursor to Meyers getting dealt? Or was it simply a depth move for the Raiders?

Could Deebo Samuel be on the block?

The Commanders aren't living up to their preseason hype.

They sit third in the NFC East but still have an outside chance if they turn their slow start around. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler noted that WR Deebo Samuel could find himself on the trade block.

Fowler cited Samuel's cost-friendly $1.1 million due after this season as a potential benefit to his trade stock.

The Minnesota Vikings, who won 13 games in 2022 and 14 games in 2024, are in the midst of a tumultuous stretch where several reporters are pointing out that there’s some internal strife beginning to manifest.

“It’s felt to me…that there’s been like an underlying tension with this team and in its staff,” The Athletic’s Alec Lewis said on his eponymous podcast. “You just get the sense that the joy that has been there in two of the three seasons, where they have won double digit games, you just don’t feel that.”
