Injuries just won’t leave the 49ers alone.
San Francisco quarterback Brock Purdy will miss Thursday night’s game against the Rams with a toe injury, giving Mac Jones his third start of the season, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Wednesday.
It will be Purdy’s third absence through five weeks after he suffered a shoulder and toe injury during Week 1 and missed the subsequent two games.

The 49ers will also be without starting wide receivers Ricky Pearsall (knee) and Jauan Jennings (ankle, ribs).
San Francisco was already without star tight end George Kittle, who is on injured reserve through at least Week 5 with a hamstring injury he suffered during the 49ers’ season opener.
Despite the injuries, the 49ers have started 3-1, although they were upset on their home field by Jacksonville on Sunday.
Purdy played in last week’s game against the Jaguars but didn’t quite look like himself, throwing two interceptions and completing just 57.9 percent of his passes.
Pearsall and Jennings were underwhelming in that game as well, combining for just six catches and 70 yards through the air.
