Adam Thielen paid homage to longtime “Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek during pregame warmups of the Vikings-Bears game Monday night.
The Vikings receiver wore cleats featuring a drawing of Trebek, who passed away earlier this month following a battle with pancreatic cancer, along with the words “We will miss you, Alex.” The inscription was displayed on a blue background that resembles the final “Jeopardy” theme and a “wager” of $19,000, a nod to Thielen’s No. 19 jersey number.
“I feel like no matter where you were from I feel like ‘Jeopardy’ was a part of all of our lives in some way,” the cleat artist, Dan “Mache” Gamache, wrote on Twitter.
Thielen went on to score two touchdowns in the Vikings’ 19-13 win in Chicago, including the game-winning score in the fourth quarter.
