The war between Kelechi Osemele and the Jets may soon reach another level, with the offensive guard’s agent reportedly threatening to take action against the team doctor for violating State Medical Board Regulations.

Osemele underwent surgery Friday for a torn right labrum, and agent Andrew Kessler told ESPN the damage to his client’s shoulder was more extensive than anticipated. Kessler didn’t clarify which rule he alleges the team doctor violated.

Jets coach Adam Gase and GM Joe Douglas have remained quiet on the matter, likely because of the legal fight that could ensue.

Osemele played just three games this season before being benched because of his play, and said Wednesday that three different doctors believed he needed surgery for the torn labrum, but the Jets feel he could play through the injury for the rest of the season.

Osemele previously said he initially injured the shoulder in training camp then reinjured it against the Patriots on Sept. 22, his last game. Osemele also said two doctors, including the Jets’ doctor, told him he needed surgery, but the team never approved it.

The 30-year-old former Pro Bowler, who was acquired from the Raiders this past offseason, was fined by the Jets beginning last week for conduct detrimental to the team after he refused to practice. The team plans to fine Osemele a game check — approximately $580,000 — each week he doesn’t practice.

Osemele is making $9.85 million in his first year with the Jets, part of a five-year, $58.5 million contract he signed with the Raiders. But he has no guaranteed money after this season and has filed a grievance to recoup his lost money.

The Jets on Saturday officially ruled Osemele out for Sunday’s game in Jacksonville.
