The sting of a fine will hurt a little less for Antoine Winfield Jr. with the shine of the Lombardi Trophy still plenty bright.

The Buccaneers rookie safety was docked $7,815 for throwing up a peace sign at Tyreek Hill after making a late stop in Super Bowl 2021, according to NFL Network — the same sign the Chiefs receiver had flashed at Winfield Jr. on a touchdown during their regular-season matchup.

Hill did not appear to be fined for the Week 12 peace sign — though he has been fined $10,527 for the same motion in the past — but it’s doubtful that Winfield Jr. has any regrets about his slightly lighter wallet after getting revenge on the way to the a Super Bowl win.

“It’s something I had to do,” Winfield Jr. said after the game last Sunday. “When we played earlier, he back-flipped in front of my face and gave me the peace sign. So it was only right that I gave him the peace sign back to him. It felt amazing to do that. I’m not even going to lie.”

Chiefs safety Tyrann Mathieu, meanwhile, was spared a fined after getting into a verbal altercation with Tom Brady during the game, NFL Network reported Saturday. Mathieu and Brady had to be separated from their heated spat — with Mathieu getting an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for pointing a finger in Brady’s face, followed by the Bucs quarterback chasing him down — which came late in the first half after Brady had thrown his third touchdown.
