Antonio Brown’s first interview since the controversial end to the Steelers season did not reveal much.
A smiling and soft-spoken Brown did an on-camera interview with USA Today in Atlanta while walking into an EA Sports event near the Super Bowl.
“I just want to win. I just want to win,” Brown said. “Play with a team that’s going to win.”
Brown has had much more pointed words for the Steelers through social media and has not hidden his desire to play for the 49ers.
Brown disappeared from the Steelers before their must-win season finale against the Bengals following a practice dispute with Ben Roethlisberger. Coach Mike Tomlin benched Brown for the game when he showed up to play on Sunday.
Steelers owner Art Rooney II said he is unwilling to release Brown, but did not see a way he would be back with the team next season.
“I think everyone just needs to stop being divas,” teammate JuJu Smith-Schuster said on ESPN’s “First Take” this week. “I think we need to stop being the Kardashians and just play ball.”
Brown, 30, had 1,297 receiving yards this season with a league-leading 15 touchdown catches.
