Fresh off getting himself cut by the Buccaneers, Antonio Brown is already trying to chart his next NFL destination — and the team’s quarterback appears interested.
Brown was a recent guest on the “I Am Athlete” podcast, where he was asked who he next wanted to play with, to which he quickly responded Lamar Jackson of the Ravens.
“Let’s give Lamar Jackson his flowers,” the polarizing wide receiver said. “Shoutout Lamar Jackson, that’s it.”
The Ravens quarterback evidently saw a clip of the interview and quote tweeted it with a purple devil emoji, which seemed to be something of an endorsement.

Brown was in his second year with the Buccaneers until Week 17 of the regular season, when he walked off the field shirtless in the middle of a game against the Jets at MetLife Stadium. The 33-year-old receiver claimed he was injured, and when he told coach Bruce Arians he could no longer play because of his ankle, Arians cut him on the spot.
Antonio Brown famously exited a Jets-Buccaneers game in January shirtless and was later released by Tampa Bay APThe Buccaneers, meanwhile, claimed Brown had been cleared by their medical staff and never indicated during the game that he could not play.
Either way, Brown has since been released and is now a free agent trying to find his latest landing spot.
Brown, here in October 2021, offered glowing remarks about Jackson during a recent appearance on the “I Am Athlete” podcast Getty Images“Lamar Jackson is a great quarterback,” Brown said on the podcast. “Not only him throwing the ball, the dynamic of him playing, the excitement, everything.”
Brown and Jackson have worked out together in past offseasons, which led to Jackson being asked about the potential of the Ravens signing Brown in April of 2020.
Jackson, here during a November 2021 game, also caught wind of Brown’s comments and replied with a purple devil emoji on Twitter Getty Images“I’d be happy if they signed him . . . but it’s not my decision,” Jackson told reporters at the time.
Currently, Jackson’s top wide receiver is Marquise Brown, who is Antonio Brown’s cousin. While Jackson and Brown might have interest, it remains to be seen whether Ravens management and coach John Harbaugh would feel the same way, especially after Brown’s latest dramatic exit from yet another team.
