“Madden” users everywhere are loving the Steelers’ new approach following touchdowns.

With extra point attempts moved back to 33-yard tries, the Steelers went for a two-point conversion on its first two opportunities last Sunday and once against the Patriots in their opener — as some who play the popular video game are known to do — and the old-school, defense-first franchise plans to continue representing the vanguard.

“Oh, we’re going to keep doing it,” quarterback Ben Roethlisberger told ESPN. “We don’t practice it this much to not do it. We practice it every single day … I tried to tell you guys early on that we would do it, and I think you guys kind of didn’t quite believe it. But it’s something we feel comfortable with.”

While the Steelers are 3-for-3 on two-point conversions, kicker Josh Scobee is 4-for-5 on extra points. So their plan makes sense, at least so far.

“If you’re up 8-0 and they go score, they have a decision to make,” Roethlisberger said of Steelers opponents. “We feel like we’re a team that’s going to do it enough that it’s going to be hard to get a bead on us.”
