Bengals running back Joe Mixon was found not guilty of an aggravated menacing charge from a road rage dispute, in which he allegedly pointed a gun at a woman and threatened her.
Judge Gwen Bender found Mixon not guilty after a four-day trial, WKRC reported.
The trial was only supposed to last two days.
The incident unfolded in January in Cincinnati on the day before the Bengals’ Divisional Round playoff game against the Bills and was re-filed this April, when more evidence was uncovered in the investigative process.
Mixon, 27, was accused of waving a gun at Ashley Creek and saying, “You should be popped in the face, I should shoot you, the police can’t get me.”
Creek took photos of Mixon’s car after he allegedly cut her off and she then gave an obscene gesture to the running back.

“Since he joined the organization in 2017, Joe Mixon has been a valuable part of the Cincinnati Bengals,” the Bengals said in a statement Thursday.
“Joe has been a top level running back with multiple 1000-yard rushing seasons, and he has been an even better teammate enjoying real popularity among his peers. During the past seven years, Joe has been active with the community, and his constant smile and energy have made him a favorite among thousands of fans. The organization is pleased that this matter is now behind everyone, and we look forward to an exciting season with Joe being an important part of the football team.”
Mixon is a one-time Pro-Bowler. Getty ImagesMixon rushed for 814 yards on 210 carries last year, adding 441 yards receiving on 60 catches.
The 27-year-old was a Pro-Bowler in 2021 after he put together a 1,205-yard season on the ground and scored 13 touchdowns.
“Knowing the facts, knowing Joe as a person and having tremendous faith in the legal systems ability to get to the truth we had no doubt of the eventual outcome,” Mixon’s agent Peter Schaffer said in a statement. “This vindicates Joe as a person and that is what’s most important. Back to the business of football.”
The running back was found not guilty. APIn a separate incident, Mixon was named in a civil lawsuit claiming he provided an assault rifle to his sister’s boyfriend outside of his home, resulting in the shooting of a teenager.
