A very different Jets backfield will be welcoming back a familiar face.
The Jets agreed to terms with running back Bilal Powell after working him out on Friday.
Powell, 30, suffered a season-ending neck injury, thought to be career-threatening initially, in an October loss to the Vikings last season. Powell, who has made a full recovery, had rushed for 343 yards on 80 carries in 2018 before the injury.
Powell was splitting carries with Isaiah Crowell last season. This season, Powell will be battling for carries with third-year back Elijah McGuire and veteran Ty Montgomery behind Le’Veon Bell.
The seven-year veteran has played with the Jets his entire career.
