Brandon Aiyuk appears determined to keep pouring gasoline on his standoff with the San Francisco 49ers.
Just days after accusing the organization of being too scared to let him leave, the disgruntled receiver returned to Instagram on Tuesday with another installment of what has become his personal offseason press conference.
This time, Aiyuk decided the 49ers aren’t angry at him at all.

“They mad ’cause they stupid, they dumb,” Aiyuk said in a video posted to social media. “They mad that they paid me $50 million in eight months and then voided my guarantees.”
Aiyuk’s video comes a day after Mark Schlereth, former NFL offensive lineman and current analyst, argued, essentially, that the receiver is currently living with the consequences of his own choices and suggested the victim narrative has worn thin.

Previously, Aiyuk spent Sunday taking aim at San Francisco for refusing to release him, suggesting the franchise is afraid he’ll thrive elsewhere.
He has also made little effort to hide his preferred destination, recently posting photos in Washington Commanders gear while continuing to follow quarterback and former Arizona State teammate Jayden Daniels on social media.

General manager John Lynch already admitted it’s “safe to say” Aiyuk has played his final snap for the franchise, yet San Francisco has shown no urgency to cut ties.
The team has expressed interest in finding a trade partner, while Washington reportedly appears content to wait and see whether the 49ers eventually blink first.

The receiver remains on the reserve/left squad list, meaning he doesn’t count against the roster and isn’t currently being paid. In other words, every Instagram video may be generating headlines, but it isn’t moving the situation any closer to resolution.
The public campaign has also arrived at an awkward time.

Getty ImagesLast week, a Santa Clara County warrant was issued for Aiyuk related to a misdemeanor speeding charge stemming from a video he posted showing himself allegedly driving more than 100 mph near Levi’s Stadium.
That development hasn’t exactly strengthened the argument that the 49ers are the villains in this story.
Aiyuk’s frustration is understandable. Before the fallout, he was coming off a 1,342-yard season and looked like one of the NFL’s emerging stars. Since then, a devastating knee injury, missed rehab sessions, voided guarantees and months of organizational warfare have sent his career into limbo.
For now, though, the 49ers, the Commanders and Aiyuk appear locked in a staring contest with no deadline and no incentive to move first.
The only certainty is that if Aiyuk has another message for the 49ers brass, he will post it on Instagram.
