The Jets made it official today when they released guard Brandon Moore to save another $7 million off their salary cap.

It’s been speculated that the Jets could bring back Moore under a new contract. Moore became a starter at left guard late in 2003 and started 73 straight games at right guard after missing three games in 2004 to injury.

The release, designed to help give the team salary cap space, came a day after the team agreed to release starting wide receiver Laveranues Coles.

The Jets also cut running back Noah Herron and defensive end Sean Conover, both signed in January.
