This isn’t for the squeamish.

Cooper Kupp, who was enjoying a breakout year before suffering a concussion last week, returned this week only to be carted off with a stomach-turning injury — only to somehow return to the game.

Kupp, a second-year receiver and part of a powerful Rams offense, took a handoff on a sweep around the end before Broncos safety Darian Stewart brought him down from behind with a horse-collar tackle that was penalized. In the process, Kupp’s left leg got caught under him and bent, and he crumpled to the ground. A cart came on for him, and the Rams officially listed him as questionable to return.

And he did. Kupp was back out there for the second half, a stunning development after the injury that appeared to be much worse.

Entering the game, the 25-year-old had caught 30 passes for 438 yards and five touchdowns in five games.
