Brock from the dead!
Brock Osweiler, stepping in for an inactive and injured Ryan Tannehill, led the Dolphins to a thrilling 31-28 win over the Bears on Sunday, a surprising victory for a team playing a backup against one of the league’s best defenses.
Against that Khalil Mack-led unit, Osweiler made mistakes and big plays. He finished 28-of-44 for a career-high 380 yards, with three touchdowns and two interceptions, including an overtime drive to make Miami winners and keep its AFC East lead intact.
Prior to the drive, Cody Parkey missed a 53-yard field goal that would have made the Bears winners. Instead, Osweiler, the $72 million bust, led the Dolphins 28 yards downfield before a 47-yard Jason Sanders boot finished things.
The Dolphins had rallied from a 21-10 deficit in the final 16 minutes thanks to two long touchdowns on short receptions by Albert Wilson.
The Bears’ Tarik Cohen lost a fumble at their 45 with 1:52 left and the score tied, but the Dolphins failed to get a first down and punted, which forced the overtime.
