Matt McGloin’s older brother did not take kindly to a couple of beat writers trolling his younger sibling.
McGloin entered the Eagles’ preseason game Thursday against the Dolphins in the second quarter. The move by Eagles coach Doug Pederson drew jeers from the crowd and chirps from two beat writers about the former Penn State quarterback on Twitter.
"McGloin, get in there."
– Doug
"Shit."
– The Eagles' receivers

McGloin’s older brother Paul, who was at the game, saw the tweets and decided to defend his brother by responding to both writers with tweets that have since been deleted from his account.
“‘Cheap Shot’ Kempski! A tall bag of crap in a cheap suit who can’t get a real job @ a legitimate paper,” McGloin tweeted. “Keep trying, dunce! Life will pick up.”
While Frank ignored the personal attacks by Paul, Kempski could not keep himself from firing back.
I'll still have my job in two weeks tho. https://t.co/uxo9IFCctj

Kempski’s implied insult that McGloin would not be on the Eagles at the start of the NFL’s regular season went over his brother’s head.
“That tweet is as vague as your attempt at writing an article,” Paul McGloin tweeted. “I’ll always have the job that I choose and make a helluva lot more money than u.”
McGloin overcame an early interception to finish the game 22-of-26 for 155 yards, including a touchdown drive. Despite his younger brother’s solid performance, the elder McGloin was unable to let go of his feud with the beat writers.
According to Kempski, who recounted what happened next to Deadspin, the Twitter beef became a more personal confrontation as he was walking to the team locker rooms after the game. Kempski said he was walking through a security checkpoint when he “faintly heard my name being yelled, and I identified [McGloin] from his Twitter bio, yelling at me like a maniac … I couldn’t exactly decipher what he was saying … but there was a ‘scumbag’ mixed in there.”
Kempski responded by giving McGloin the middle finger, something the older brother of the Eagels quarterback did not miss.
“Thx for bringing to light how some wannabes take cheap shots with no logic, facts or stats,” McGloin tweeted in reply to a Deadspin article. “Kempski forgot to mention that he flipped me off.”
The Eagles would end up beating the Dolphins 38-31.
