Bruce Arians does not want to imagine life coaching the Buccaneers without Tom Brady at quarterback.
On a third and 2 in the first quarter against the Bills on Sunday, Brady scrambled for a first down, putting his body on the line while stretching the ball across the first down marker.
Asked about the play, Arians was succinct.
“Yeah, that’s enough of that s–t,” he said.
Bruce Arians does not want Tom Brady taking contact on scrambles. ScreengrabIt led to a follow-up regarding how Brady likes to scramble.
“He don’t like it that much,” the coach said. “Get your ass on the ground.”
Arians cut off a third question about Brady’s rushing with a classic “that’s enough,” before heading away from the podium.

For his part, Brady used Sunday’s scrambles as an opportunity to jokingly lobby “Madden” video game producers to up his speed rating.
The Buccaneers have firm control of the NFC South at 10-3 and are in the mix for a first-round bye if they can leapfrog the 10-2 Cardinals and 10-3 Packers (who at this moment hold the tiebreaker over the Bucs) in the season’s final month.
It would be an overreaction to see any turmoil between Arians and Brady from this press conference. However, even if there was some tension, it may not be a bad thing. There were moments of disharmony last season at times, but they got it together for a Super Bowl run.
