Evan Engram can imagine the possibilities: Saquon Barkley in the backfield, Odell Beckham Jr. — and Sterling Shepard and Engram — running routes for Eli Manning.

“When you got those guys on the field at the same time, it puts defenses in a bind, kinda pick-your-poison approach to it,” Engram said Wednesday at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore’s annual Sports Day.

“To have him on the field with Odell and the rest of the talent we have, it could be dangerous if we could put it all together, if that happens,” Engram said.

Engram has seen clips of Barkley.

“He’s a game-changer,” he said. “He can take a read-option 80 yards to the house or he can take an opening kickoff to the house. He can catch out of the backfield. He’s just a really good complete player, and if he can carry that success over to the next level, he’ll be a big game-changer even in the NFL.”

Engram doesn’t know much about the quarterbacks in this draft. But he does believe that his friend Davis Webb has a bright future.

“Hard work like that just doesn’t go unnoticed and unrewarded, and the way he works and how much he cares about the game and how much he cares about being successful in this game, and how much he appreciates learning from Eli, helping him out and learning how to be a pro like Eli has been. There’s no doubt in my mind that our whole team should want that in our pocket for many years to come,” Engram said. “He’s easily gonna be a starting quarterback in this league without a doubt.”

Engram was asked about Beckham’s frame of mind during the workout program last week.

“He’s real focused, just from talking to him. … He’s really excited about the offense that we’re in and the opportunities that are gonna present for us,” Engram said.

The Beckham trade talk has died down.

“I can’t tell the future, but I know that he wants to be with us. He should be a Giant for life,” Engram said.

Engram’s eyes lit up talking about Pat Shurmur’s offense.

“It’s simple, but it’s gonna give defenses headaches, and if we can just put everything together and keep working towards being successful on that, it’s gonna be a really fun year and really fun for our offense playing in his system,” Engram said.

Defensive end Bradley Chubb, regarded as the best pass rusher in the draft, was Engram’s high school teammate back home in Georgia.

“Me and him were always going at it in practice — not bad, but — I did a little blocking back then, too,” Engram said. “I always used to mess with him a little bit saying he was soft and everything, but I think he’s kinda took that to heart now and he’s killing everybody in his way right now. Really good kid, a really good friend of mine, and I’m really excited for him and his future.”

Engram’s offseason training has paid dividends.

“I feel like I’ve gotten bigger and faster,” Engram said.

He’s been catching passes from Manning the past few weeks.

“He looks bigger than me,” Engram said. “He’s in great shape, his arm is good.”

Engram, after signing autographs with Jamal Adams and David Cone and Mickey Rivers and posing for photos, asked if he could add one last comment.

“It’s a real blessing to help these people and just the adversity that they’re going through to be able to put smiles on their faces, it’s real cool,” he said.
